Whether you enjoy singing in a choir or playing an instrument, First Christian Church has a place for you in its Music & the Arts ministry.  For more information, contact Daniel Comeaux, Director of Music, at fcc@fccmeridian.com.

The Chancel Choir sings an anthem each Sunday in worship, as well as provides larger arrangements of music around Christmas and Easter.  It sings a blend of both traditional and contemporary pieces in what it offers.  The choir is a volunteer-choir and practices each Wednesday evening at 6 p.m.

The Children’s Choir sings intermittently in worship and practices Sunday mornings prior to Sunday school (and at other arranged times).  The choir is open to all children elementary through junior high.

FCC has several artists in its membership who have generously enriched our worship and mission life with their paintings, photography, pottery, woodwork, etc.  Other artists have contributed through musical gifts of playing various instruments and vocals.  Come and be a part!

First Christian Church of Meridian will present “A Living Christmas” during the Sunday morning worship service on December 16th at 10:30 a.m. The service will feature the works of composers/arrangers Lloyd Larson and Tom Fettke. Five unique, “living” monologues and scripture-based narration will be included. Monologues are by Angel Gabriel, Joseph, the Innkeeper, Shepherd Zach, and Wise Man Shadrach. First Christian youth will provide narration that coordinates with the music and monologues to weave a beautiful, dramatic retelling of the Christmas story.

The Adult Chancel Choir will provide the music accompanied by organ and piano. Beautiful adult and youth soloists will be performed by Mary and Ezra, son of Shepherd Zach. Inspiring sets depicting the little town of Bethlehem and the cave and stable where baby Jesus is born were created specifically for this performance. Combined with the music, readings and personal depictions, “A Living Christmas” promises to be a very meaningful multi-sensory worship experience.

The community is invited to this special presentation. First Christian Church is located at 1301 23rd Avenue. For more information, call 601.693.1425.
